This series contains letters from the Commissioner of the General Land Office (later, the Director of the Bureau of Land Management) detailing decisions on land withdrawals, patents, rights-of-way, and administrative issues. Early letters in the series were addressed to the Registers and Receivers of the Phoenix and Tucson land offices. Later letters, however, were addressed to the Arizona State Office supervisor, illustrating the continuance of the series. Additionally, this series contains land and road maps. Goldwater and Carl Hayden that sought to expand the Grand Canyon National Park, and a proclamation by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1937) that created the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument are found in box 15.
